Cupellation is the last and crucial stage in fire assay process.so,the quality of cupel is very Important .
During cupellation,the lead is oxidized to litharge(PbO),most of which is absorted by the cupel.Gold,silver,platinum and other precious metals form a tiny bead in the cupel.
The cupels are removed from the furnace, allowed to cool and the gold bead is weighted.Finally,we can calculate the content of precious metals.
